Frequently Asked Questions
What is therapy and who benefits from it?
Therapy is a collaborative treatment process that aims to aid a person struggling with various stressors from life transitions to severe mental illness. This process includes support, emotional safety, education, coping skills, validation, problem solving, and more to help heal pain, trauma, loss/grief, etc and improve quality of life. It requires a deep therapeutic alliance between provider and participant. I believe all people can benefit from therapy or having a regular safe place to reflect, explore, learn, grow and change while navigating life and all it offers. Therapy with Milestone is a safe space for all people.
What are treatment costs? Do you accept insurance?
Individual sessions are billed at $200.00 per 55 minute appointment. Group sessions are billed at $95.00 per 55 minute group session. Currently, I am in network with CareFirst/BlueCrossBlueShield (DC/MD area only). Participants covered by this platform are only responsible for their individual co-pay. All fees are due in full same day of service. Supervision costs are as follows: Individual: $135/hr & Group: $70/hr.
Do you offer in person or virtual appointments?
Currently all therapeutic and supervision services are held virtually via a HIPAA compliant telehealth platform. I do not have plans to reintroduce in persons sessions before fall 2024. Training, consultation services and speaking engagements can be arranged to be held in person.
Do you work with children, couples or families?
Currently, I do not work with children (under 18), couples or families. All of my treatment services are delivered to individuals.

There are important requirements when seeking out of network care or if you are uninsured. The information is still being clarified, however we are taking proactive steps to address this and provide notice and documentation.
Some health insurance coverage programs already have protections against high medical bills. You’re already protected against surprise medical billing if you have coverage through Medicare, Medicaid, Indian Health Services, Veterans Affairs Health Care, or TRICARE.
